Open Pla de Vent 2010

Sunday 31st of October met 9 pilots (including our French friends Sylvain Coulomb, Fabrice Estivals and Roland Henninot) for F3B Speed and Duration tasks Contest.

Wheather forecast all week long was very bad (rain and strong wind) but luckly rain just appeared one hour when we were setting winches, anyway very strong wind was with us all day long.

We made 6 rounds of Speed and Duration task (3 pilots for group) in a row with a short break for meal. Very early top pilots (French Team and Dani Portella) began to stand up and speed times improved all day. Best time was for Dani, 14,92 seconds (his new best personal time) but Fabrice Estivals was very steady with a final average of 16,23 seconds.

After that contest I realize I can fly speed tasks with full ballast with no fear and I have to prepare every flight before every launch to be sure about what I have to do to get best scores.

A very usefull contest to take decissions for next season and keep our friendship with our French neighbors. Personally I made some good flights but tactical mistakes in two duration tasks and a bad speed penalized me a lot. Now is time to fly, fly and fly again all Fall and Winter to prepare next season.
