I have bought a second hand winch in very good conditions. Today I have made some launches with it to confirm everything was ok. So now I will have to good winches for competitions and two for trainings. Few people in the field today because a windy day :-( My father, Javier, Dani and me... we don't fail... we must fly once a week to be happy :-) Some photos here.

Yeahhhh!!!!! We're already registered to Mörsburgcup, same team that was in KO (Sergi Subias, Alberto Portella, Daniel Portella and me) and maybe my father will be there helping us...

Flying with seniors

Last weekend I couldn't met with everybody so I was flying with my senior team mates (Javier Portella and my father) on Sunday. Both are a deep source of wisdom, and I think I should obey more than I do... :-P I was testing new settings for launch that Mr. Dieter Perlick (Altus designer) gave me nicely. I like them so I'll change my two phases for launching system and I will launch with one and I will use for zoom speed mode :-O

Some videos from contests in UK and France

Kirchheim Open 2011

Finally at home, lot of kilometers form Barcelona to Kirchheim... three amazing days again in one of the best F3B Contest in the World. 99 pilots from lot of European countries. Amazing organization so we could fly four rounds in three days.

Herrig brothers are still the referring pilots in F3B scene. Age of Radical and Freestyler 3 seems is ending and Baudis Models and Freestyler 4 are the fashioned models without forgetting Extasys. About flights... I feel every year pilots are stronger, that edition you should reach almost 25 laps and some times more than 30. Martin Herrig beat distance world record with a new score of 38 laps Yeaaahhhhh!!!!!!

First flight of the contest was Speed, and people at 8.30 already made 15.xx seconds scores. In my case my time was 22.xx :-P Personally I made my best personal scores in distance (27 seven laps) and speed (18,89 seconds). I had to flight two rounds with my green Altus because T-tail of orange ones was damaged :-( Also I made a 0 in second speed where I lost all my oportunities to get a better classification. Anyway, I'm happy and very motivated to train hard and compete again in Swiss.

Results and my photos.

Is so cute...

Back to normal

After some weekends with lot of problems with launchs it seems I've restored good settings for my Altus :-( Today was very windy so I have to wait for a quiet day to confirm towhook position and deflections are right. Javier brought his "new" motorized Jewel making awsome flights. Dani is a tirelss pilot so he wanted to fly with us despite his injured ankle. Alberto every day is happier with his Crossi II and my father enjoyed flying his Nyx.

Some photos here.

Training for Coll de l'Illa Contest

That afternoon I've been with my father flying in Santa Coloma slope to check our planes are ok for Sunday. We will compete in Coll de l'Illa first contest of F3F Catalonian League tomorrow. It used to be a very cold and windy slope, landing is so dangerous we flight all rounds in a row to avoid more landings. Conditions are extrem but feelings in that slope are amazing. Also amazing is the lunch after the contest. We will make a "Calçotada" as every year

My Caracho had so damaged its tips we decided to cut them so now I have a new version: Caracho 2.9 It seems is very easy to make turns with them. Tomorrow will be a good flight test :-P
I have made some photos while my father flew his V-Ultra.

Ice Age in Pla de Vent

Brrrrr...!!!!!! Very very cold that Sunday in Pla de Vent field, and wind make you feel frozen... Only four braves in the field: Javier, my dad, Dani and me. We have had to rest and have lunch in the House Club. But so many sacrifice have had his reward: a new personal launch of 319 meters of altitude :-)

Two in a row

My dad and me in a nice flight

Last weekend I went to fly Saturday and Sunday :-) We are working hard that Winter to improve our performs in Eurotour. Everything was ok except a bad landing of my father and a little accident with a broken line and my right hand. I spend all weekend training distance task and optimizing my launches. I've realized I lost a lot of altitude in first laps and I fly better in final laps, so I have to improve my perform in first 4 laps :-P Next weekend more flights and I don't discard to make a F3B weekend very soon :-O

New Zealand F3B Nats 2011

Joe Wurts is the champion of New Zealand F3B Nats 2011. Results in page eight.

Training distance task

We we're very quiet yesterday. We just could met in Pla de Vent field my father, Javier and me :-( Dani had to work, Alberto was sick and Sergi Subies was bussy in Barcelona. Fantastic weather, very sunny and good wind for launches. Megaline 1.22 still worked fantastic and I spend all day long making distance flights. Javier is very happy with his Vampire, it looks very nice an performes very well in launches. My father finally got good settings for launches with his Crossfire and brought his new toys for 2011 to make some photos: FX-30 and Extasys by Jiri Tuma.

Seniors in Action

I've planned to train next weekends to set up Altus for distance, yesterday I flew with 400 grams of ballast getting 270-280 meters launches. To be more competitive I have to ballast Altus whit more lead but anyway I think 400 grams is a good beginning.

15 weekends before Kirchheim removes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good feelings for 2011

We are very motivated for 2011 Season, so Dani, Sergi Subies and me met to Pla de Vent field to make first flights of the year. We are very motivated and very excited for that Season. We want to perform in more contests in 2011 than last year and train very hard that Winter. First step will be improve our launches and today I got my personal one: 310 meters... :-) Next weekend more flights.

Last Sunday Portella Team (Javier, Alberto and Daniel Portella) and F3B at Home Team (Sergi Subies, my dad and me) met to make some flights, sunday was a special day, Sergi Subies made his first flights with one of his Radicalsm (I hope his girlfriend won't read that blog :-P) After lot of failed launches Sergi set ok the towhook and made some flights with a better launch of 277 meters. Maybe that was our last flights of the year but I'm tempted to fly on 25th...

Yes, we train

Saturday morning I drove to Pla de Vent field where I met with Javier, Dani and Alberto. All three wanted to test his pylon planes for Sunday club contest. It was a new nice day with light south wind that some times increased its strenght. We made lot of flights and I was trying to improve my launches. I tested my new settings in my second phase before zoom and the new position of the towhook. I still have a lot of work and also a lot of time before contests begans.

Open Pla de Vent 2010

Sunday 31st of October met 9 pilots (including our French friends Sylvain Coulomb, Fabrice Estivals and Roland Henninot) for F3B Speed and Duration tasks Contest.

Wheather forecast all week long was very bad (rain and strong wind) but luckly rain just appeared one hour when we were setting winches, anyway very strong wind was with us all day long.

We made 6 rounds of Speed and Duration task (3 pilots for group) in a row with a short break for meal. Very early top pilots (French Team and Dani Portella) began to stand up and speed times improved all day. Best time was for Dani, 14,92 seconds (his new best personal time) but Fabrice Estivals was very steady with a final average of 16,23 seconds.

After that contest I realize I can fly speed tasks with full ballast with no fear and I have to prepare every flight before every launch to be sure about what I have to do to get best scores.

A very usefull contest to take decissions for next season and keep our friendship with our French neighbors. Personally I made some good flights but tactical mistakes in two duration tasks and a bad speed penalized me a lot. Now is time to fly, fly and fly again all Fall and Winter to prepare next season.

IV Open Internacional Catalunya F3F Eurotour 2010

Last weekend had F3F Eurotour in Santa Coloma Slope. We met thirty pilots, one of the best was with us, Alexis Marechal, he couldn't win but he made amazing flights, very tight turns in base A & B, he made his Alliaj HM never lost energy in the turns... Alexis is the perfect F3F Pilot.
I think I made my best performance in f3f competition. I was third in one of the rounds :-D In last round I flew with full ballast (980 grms) and I learnt that more ballast don't make you faster allways :-P More photos, results and reports in f3b.es and ikarusrc.com, mine are here.

But now is time to concentrate my efforts in Kirchheim :-O

We already have 2 Caracho
