This is the rebirth of F3B at Home. Do you remember? After my experience as helper of the Spanish team in the F3B WC in Laappenranta I have decide to make a "relaunch" of F3B at Home. Maybe the new name should be F3B at Blog but I prefer to go on with the old name. So welcome to my blog!

Open Pla de Vent 2010
Sunday 31st of October met 9 pilots (including our French friends Sylvain Coulomb, Fabrice Estivals and Roland Henninot) for F3B Speed and Duration tasks Contest.
Wheather forecast all week long was very bad (rain and strong wind) but luckly rain just appeared one hour when we were setting winches, anyway very strong wind was with us all day long.
We made 6 rounds of Speed and Duration task (3 pilots for group) in a row with a short break for meal. Very early top pilots (French Team and Dani Portella) began to stand up and speed times improved all day. Best time was for Dani, 14,92 seconds (his new best personal time) but Fabrice Estivals was very steady with a final average of 16,23 seconds.
After that contest I realize I can fly speed tasks with full ballast with no fear and I have to prepare every flight before every launch to be sure about what I have to do to get best scores.
A very usefull contest to take decissions for next season and keep our friendship with our French neighbors. Personally I made some good flights but tactical mistakes in two duration tasks and a bad speed penalized me a lot. Now is time to fly, fly and fly again all Fall and Winter to prepare next season.

IV Open Internacional Catalunya F3F Eurotour 2010
I think I made my best performance in f3f competition. I was third in one of the rounds :-D In last round I flew with full ballast (980 grms) and I learnt that more ballast don't make you faster allways :-P More photos, results and reports in f3b.es and ikarusrc.com, mine are here.
But now is time to concentrate my efforts in Kirchheim :-O

Shootering in the slope
An other day in the slope with my Caracho, today Carles Aymat has made his first flights with Shooter. In two weeks begins F3F season with F3F Club Contest. I'll see if I'm improving my performance in the slope. At midday wind stopped so we packed and came back at home. Some photos here.

Nearly I don't fly!!!
Today has begun with bad news... I've forgotten screw that hols T-Tail of my Altus!!! I've had to get used to the idea when Dani and Javier have helped me to find an alternative screw that let me fly at least some flights. And they did it!!!! Thank you very much guys!!!!
Again, the wind has changed of direction when we've finished to set the winches (I'm right with you Dani, next time we'll go to the south side of the field) so our launches has been very pour. We have been practicing duration flights, Dani with Radical, Javier with Warp, my father with Crossi and me with the best plane of the world ;-)Dani showed us his new Altus (RDS version), now Walter is making Alberto's one and then will make mine with RDS system too.
Some photos here.

Preparing F3F Season
First contest will be on 14th February (not the best date for our wifes :-P) in "Coll de l'Illa", the most extrem slope you can imagine. We fly all rounds in a row so you just need to land one time.
My father wore Kevin Newton style glasses but I didn't feel any improve in his pilot skill.
I will post some photos later.

Walter Reist Seminar
It has been raining all day long, so we couldn't fly today :-( We have driven to Walter Reist workshop to learn how he makes our Altus, Today has been working with Altus fuse for Dani. When he has finished we have been checking RDS system. The servo holes are small so it's a little bit dificult to install the servos (Next wings will have bigger holes)
Next plane will be for Alberto and then will come mine!!!!!!!!!
If you are looking for a nice, with good f3b skills & cheap plane (and you don't want to wait one year to get it) your choice is Altus ;-)
