Yesterday In my second launch I lost the control of my Altus. It's not restorable for F3B. I fear the problem is the radio...What I do? I can use my dad's FC28 but I'm not used to it... This week I have to fly my green Altus and Crossfire to fly in Kirchheim. All work made these months lost in two seconds... No photos today...

IV Open Internacional Catalunya F3F Eurotour 2010

Last weekend had F3F Eurotour in Santa Coloma Slope. We met thirty pilots, one of the best was with us, Alexis Marechal, he couldn't win but he made amazing flights, very tight turns in base A & B, he made his Alliaj HM never lost energy in the turns... Alexis is the perfect F3F Pilot.
I think I made my best performance in f3f competition. I was third in one of the rounds :-D In last round I flew with full ballast (980 grms) and I learnt that more ballast don't make you faster allways :-P More photos, results and reports in f3b.es and ikarusrc.com, mine are here.

But now is time to concentrate my efforts in Kirchheim :-O

Sunday, February 21, 2010

We already have 2 Caracho

I went to Santa Coloma slope yesterday and today to make last flights before F3F Eurotour Contest Saturday was very windy so I could fly with lot of ballast but Sunday wind was very low so we have been flying very quiet and making lot of landings because wind was off very often. My father has flown his Caracho, so each other have one Caracho :-D ready to fly.

Some photos here.

Mine will be a F3B Beast!!!!!!!! I have RDS frames from Jiri Baudis in the Post Office, I will bring them tomorrow.

Shootering in the slope

An other day in the slope with my Caracho, today Carles Aymat has made his first flights with Shooter. In two weeks begins F3F season with F3F Club Contest. I'll see if I'm improving my performance in the slope. At midday wind stopped so we packed and came back at home.

Goodbye Vicens...

My very good friend, Vicens Colomina, has letft us after a short disease... :-( Thank you very much for such good moments in Gallecs field and thank you for help my father and me to make our own winch. It works like a new Hollenbeck one after lot of years ;-)

We'll miss you a lot.

Nearly I don't fly!!!

Today has begun with bad news... I've forgotten screw that hols T-Tail of my Altus!!! I've had to get used to the idea when Dani and Javier have helped me to find an alternative screw that let me fly at least some flights. And they did it!!!! Thank you very much guys!!!!

Again, the wind has changed of direction when we've finished to set the winches (I'm right with you Dani, next time we'll go to the south side of the field) so our launches has been very pour. We have been practicing duration flights, Dani with Radical, Javier with Warp, my father with Crossi and me with the best plane of the world ;-)

Dani showed us his new Altus (RDS version), now Walter is making Alberto's one and then will make mine with RDS system too.

Some photos here.

Preparing F3F Season

Yesterday I began with my father to prepare F3F Season. In 2010 we are going to fly our Carachos 3.1, fantastic model for F3F discipline.

First contest will be on 14th February (not the best date for our wifes :-P) in "Coll de l'Illa", the most extrem slope you can imagine. We fly all rounds in a row so you just need to land one time.

My father wore Kevin Newton style glasses but I didn't feel any improve in his pilot skill.

I will post some photos later.

Masterpiece in Santa Coloma Slope

Today I have been in Santa Coloma Slope to fly my Caracho and prepare F3F season. Very cold weather and good wind, I used to fly rounds until I couldn't feel my hands :-P Later arrived Emilio Escobar with his sons, Hugo and Lucas. Hugo has been making very good flights with Masterpiece. Tomorrow more flights, with my father.
Some photos here.

Walter Reist Seminar

It has been raining all day long, so we couldn't fly today :-( We have driven to Walter Reist workshop to learn how he makes our Altus,

Today has been working with Altus fuse for Dani. When he has finished we have been checking RDS system. The servo holes are small so it's a little bit dificult to install the servos (Next wings will have bigger holes)

Next plane will be for Alberto and then will come mine!!!!!!!!!
If you are looking for a nice, with good f3b skills & cheap plane (and you don't want to wait one year to get it) your choice is Altus ;-)

First flights of 2010

Lot of people today in the field club. 6 winches, lot of pilots and the best Helper we can enjoy, Walter Reist. Walter brought brand new Altus wings for Dani, every time Altus are better finished so our team mate, Sergi Subies, has ordered also one :-)

Two Altus in thermal
A new day with bad soft wind, so we have spent all day long to imporve our launches with this sort of conditions. Because I'n in holliday I have met with Dani to fly again on Tuesday and make a visit to Walter in his workshop. I hope to get my second altus in two-three weeks :-P More photos here.

Altus rules

We have made last flights of the year. Wind was softer than it used to be, so we have tried to improve our launches with better or worst results. Dani has modified the position of his Radical towhook with very good results. My father and Alberto need more time to get good settings. Personally my launches are better every day. Now is time to earn some money to order a new Altus ;-)

F3F Spanish Championship 2009 Second day

We already have F3F Championship!!!!! Tomas Eklund has been steadiest pilot. Second position was for Iñaki Elizondo, he has been all competition in top positions, but penalties have avoided to get Gold medal. And third... Dani Portella, I think he had very bad luck first day of competition, today has flown with some ballast in his Altus and got good scores. First six piots flew Freestylers excepting one Altus.

At mid morning I was in 8th position (after 3rd round) but my flights and final withdraws put me in 12th. I'm happy with my performance, my V-Ultra Plus is Ok and my landings were right :-)

With this contest also, F3F Catalonian League has ended (1st Carles Aymat, 2nd Luis Mejias & 3rd Daniel Portella)

Scores and Photos.

Altus ready for Speed Cup

Free day in Barcelona, I have gone to the field early in the morning with my father, we had met with Dani to prepare Speed Cup, after some flights with some ballast I don't have any doubt about which plane I will fly in the contest: Altus. Is the best plane I've never flew (Today was my second day with him), very easy to trim and launch, now is time to fly, fly and fly again.... So cute that rarest bugs want to be with him. Lot of breaking lines because windy conditions :-( Some photos here.

Monday, September 21, 2009

Finally my Altus

Wow....!!!!! Finally I have flown my Altus. Very happy with his skills :-) More flights next Thursday in the morning, I don't think I will not have enough time to fly him in Speed Cup but I'm tempted to do... :-P Is a very easy plane to launch and very easy to fly in any conditions. Now is time to fly, fly and fly again to exploit his potential.

Are you interested in Cyril?

Would you like to buy a Cyril? I have had one in my hands and looks nice, very strong and very light... 2.060 grms. !!!!!! Carles Aymat has his Cyril finished, now is time to fly!!!!!

We have to be prepared for next generation of planes. No doubt a new Radical will be announced in few time, Crossfire 2 is coming, Jiri Baudis is offering his new plane with no official name.

How long is "The 2.000 € plane"? By the moment Altus is my bet :-P I should buy a piggy-bank.

(Carles, thank you for the photo)

Altus Premier

After a very exciting week following wc by webcam (10 Points for Organizers), now is time to think in Munich, next Season and next WC (China?) Dani and Alberto made their first f3b flights with Altus (In one or two weeks mine will be ready). First impressions: Altus is an easy plane to fly and loves ballast.
They were working with launch settings (highest altituded was 281 meters, very good "score" in Spain) and making some speed flights with some ballast. Now is time to fly, fly and fly to get 110% of this amazing and original plane.
